This laptop is competitively priced and is targeted towards the light users. Read the review to know more.
The first thing you can tell when you see the laptop is that matte finish. Though the finish is nice it doesn’t give you the same premium looks of laptops that are priced around $1000. But the design cannot be written off completely as it is good enough for a laptop with a low price tag.

The screen size is 15.6 inches. This is the perfect size for many people out there; not too big to carry and not too small either. But we’ll leave that to people’s personal preference ass that is how it should be.
The screen resolution here is high definition and with 1366 x 768 pixels put into a screen this size the image quality has to be good. You can watch HD movies but since the order of the day is 4k videos, your laptop will not support such UHD videos.
The laptop is powered by an AMD E1 1200 dual core processor. We would not like to mislead you by saying that the processor is a beast or anything. You get what you pay and this is true here. The processor is good enough to run applications that can help do your day to day activities.
If it is watching videos, play low end games, sending emails and browsing then this one will be nice to you. But if you are planning to do some high end work like audio/video editing, then this may not be the right laptop.
The RAM that supports the processor is a 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM. This helps you in a bit of multi tasking in all the possibilities we have mentioned above. 4 gigs is really a good amount considering the price of the laptop and does gets the user some value.
The hard drive has a capacity of 500GB. This isn’t any bad but if you have a knack of storing media then you might find this space not enough. Any good software these days can easily use up to 20 to 30 GB easily. If you are a hardcore user, you might need a few applications like these and when the space begins to come good, you will feel that the speed of the laptop is taking a toll here.
The battery life is very important to a lot people. The main reason is that it gives you the power of portability and you need carry those wires and adapter with you all the time. The Toshiba Satellite C55D-A5380 gives a solid battery life of 4 hours. This is a good number and should satisfy you if you were concerned about the battery.
If you have photographers in your house, they can easily transfer their work to the laptop using the multi card reader. You can also use the optical drive to read and write DVDs.
There are USB ports and there are about two ports belonging to the 3.0 version and it is to be noted that this port can transfer data at a speed that is 10 times faster than the USB 2.0 ports.
The operating system that comes with the laptop is the Windows 8. You can, however, can easily upgrade to Windows 8.1. If you don’t like the operating system like many other people, you can manually install Windows 7 to suit your needs.
The Toshiba Satellite C55D-A5380 is a good offering from the house of Toshiba. The price tag tells us that this is a budget device and it is true in many ways. This is not to say that the device under performs but to tell you that don’t expect too much from it. Go for it if you need a budget laptop without any bells and whistles.
