Toshiba Qosmio X75-A7180 review 1 The Toshiba Qosmio X75-A7180 is a high end laptop that best suits the creative pros and also hardcore gamers. There is a dedicated graphics card which makes us say so and yes it does have some special improvements which were needed on its sibling laptop. Read the review fully to see if this one is in your league.

The laptop comes with a black widow design which you can find in the other machines in the Qosmio series. It is a pleasing design and is something that gamers will like. The keypad and the touchpad are well done with spacious keys and sensitive touch. The 17 inch screen will give a lot of space for those interested in image/video editing kind of stuff.

The display, like mentioned above, is a 17.3 inch display which is bigger than the usual laptop displays. It has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels which offers excellent picture clarity. Even though the pixels density is smaller than the number you would like to hear, the screen will be away from you by a good distance and this will not affect the clarity of things.

The display is well suited for watching movies and other kinds of media consumption. Since the graphics are too good (will talk about this later) the screen is perfect for people who work on images and videos.

Processor and Memory

Toshiba Qosmio X75-A7180 review 2The processor that powers the Toshiba Qosmio X75-A7180 is an Intel i7 processor that has a clocking frequency of 2.4GHz. This is the one among the best in the Intel’s 4th generation chips and does a lot of work. You can expect no lag in performance in running applications, thanks to the processor.

There is a 16GB DIMM RAM that makes up the memory department in the laptop. This is ridiculous amount of memory and helps you to do multi tasking like a breeze. You just can’t think of any hiccups with such a powerful processor and memory and it stays true. This combination is one of the best things in the laptop.

Hard drive and Graphics

There is a 1TB hard drive that has enough space for any kind of user. This is kind of a usual thing in high end laptops these days. What makes the Toshiba Qosmio X75-A7180 more special is the inclusion of a 256GB solid state drive. This makes in the performance even faster and better. The booting of the laptop, starting and closing of applications will now be faster than ever. This is a true value addition from Toshiba.

The graphics card plays an important role in a laptop that is targeted towards gamers and creative individuals and there is no disappointment here. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 770M comes with a 3GB dedicated memory and runs almost all the games perfectly. If you are an avid gamer, there is very little chance that you might not like this laptop.

Connectivity and Battery

There are 4 USB 3.0 ports that promise faster data transfer than the older versions. There is also a HDMI port that allows you to hook up your device to a HDTV and enjoy the contents in that bigger screen.

There is another interesting inclusion here. The laptop comes with a blu ray rewritable drive that can read and write blu rays. This doesn’t come in all the laptops and this is what makes this one truly high end.

The company claims a battery life of 3.5 hours and considering the display size of 17.3 inches with 1080p resolution this is a good deal.

Is it Worth the Money?

The Toshiba Qosmio X75-A7180 is not a cheap laptop by any means. With an expensive price tag, they have made sure that they’ve covered everything and there is nothing that’s been cut. If you think you can use this thing to even half of its potential, then it is totally worth it.

  • Great processor and RAM
  • SSD improves gives performance boost

  • Sorry, nothing here

You’ve come to the end of the Toshiba Qosmio X75-A7180 review and though it might look like a biased review, we’re sure that you might have understood what you can do with this beast. Light users, please stay away (don’t if you can afford it). Hardcore gamers and power users, this one is yours. Just get one already. TechWeirdo recommends it.
