iBuyPower Gamer Power AM656FX Desktop Review
iBuyPower has released some gaming devices that has been well received by the gaming community. The iBuyPower Gamer Power AM656FX is another desktop that comes with a reasonable price tag and a very good spec sheet. Will it be enough for the gamers to feast on? Read the review to know more.
One thing we have to remember is that the device isn’t an all in one desktop, meaning it doesn’t come with a monitor. You will have to get yourself a monitor with good frame rates that will support your games flawlessly. You can look up on the monitors in our monitor section for recommendations.
The design of the desktop cabinet is modern and the side of the cabinet is transparent which means you can see the insides of the cabinet and this will attract a lot of positive responses of ahs and oohs from people who see the desktop.

The processor is a real deal. We have an eight core AMD FX-8120 processor. The maximum clocking frequency of the processor is 3.1 GHz. The processor is a real heavy weight and can run any application without any problem. We are talking a gaming desktop here and it doesn’t fail us in any way.
There is an 8 GB DDR3 RAM that completes the memory department. This is a good number and with the processor it can do some hard pulling. You won’t be having any problem in multi tasking. And this isn’t a word and music playback we are talking about, it is something more serious. Hardcore users will be glad for this.
A real disappointment here is the 500GB hard drive. When you call it a gaming desktop I think makes a lot of sense to give it at least 1TB of memory especially when games these days are very large. Even though we can buy external hard disks the manufacturers have missed a trick here with the hard drive.
People who are not in favor of Windows 8 are in for a treat here. The iBuyPower Gamer Power AM656FX comes with Windows 7 and you can upgrade if you want to have the latest and the greatest. Windows 7 is already proven to be a great operating system that supports games and the behavior is no different here.
There are 6 USB ports that allow you to transfer data. Of these 6, 2 of them are USB 3.0 ports which can allow data transfer at speeds ten times faster than the older version. There is also a DVDRW drive for people who still use or fond of optical drives.
The iBuyPower Gamer Power AM656FX review would have made it clear that it is a good gaming desktop with all the power needed. The only drawback is the hard drive is a little disappointing. Other than that every spec of this desktop is a beast and affordable price tag makes it a purchase you wouldn’t regret.
