Epson workforce 845 reviewPrinters which are usually used for printing alone are becoming obsolete now. Why? People prefer as much functionality as possible in a single printer. This saw the evolution of printers in more than one ways, combination of printers and fax machines, photocopying and printing and so on. Epson Workforce 845 is one such wonderful device that promises to be an all-in-one printer. When they say it, they mean it and in this case very seriously.

This workforce from Epson is surely an all-in-one printer which has the capability to print, copy, scan and also fax. This turns out to be honest attempt from Epson to provide a complete solution to those who want everything in one place. Does it really prove its worth? We’ll see that.

The Workforce 845 can definitely not be told as a compact printer. It has a measurement of 17.8×14.5×11.8 inches. There are two trays for loading paper in the front and carrying a fully loaded device won’t be much of an issue as it is only 22 pounds.

There is a front panel that is 13 inch wide. The panel consists of a touch screen with a 3.5 inch LCD. There are two slots in the front for the purpose of printing media. There is also a USB port for connecting your digital cameras and taking prints directly from them. These are the basic features in the Workforce 845.

The Good

Setting up printers can be a real problem in some cases but it is definitely not the case here. Workforce 845 can be setup in a shorter period for both windows and Mac. Linux setup is even quicker. This ensures fast printing at new places.

The print speed and quality are better than the competitors that come at the same price range. The best thing that separates it from its competitor is the quiet printing. Less sound is a welcome gift.

Another feature that is worth mentioning is its auto duplexing ability. This printer can print in both sides of the paper with quality and also in a pretty decent pace. This can save a lot of time.

A great inclusion n this device is the use of Wi-Fi. Epson has introduced the Connect Email Print app so that each printer will have its own email id and we can send the files to be printed through Wi-Fi and print it at any place. With the improvement in technology, this feature will be very well received.

The Bad

Though the quality is good for the price we pay, the speed is decent but not as good as some other costly printers. This can affect the work in places where they print in huge volumes.

There are minute discolorations in some printouts which have a solid background. But this might not be a big problem as they spread is not that severe.

The Final Touch

The Epson Workforce 845 is a fine printer, loaded with a lot of fine features that will make the buyer happy for sure. If you can afford costly printers, you may get the perfect printer. Otherwise, if you are okay with a few soft images, this can turn out to be your printing companion.
