ASUS VM60-G072R Desktop Review
The new ASUS VM60-G072R is an exciting option for people who are looking for a compact desktop that would actually take a lot lesser space than the conventional ones. The desktop is small and creates a pretty good first impression. But will the insides give the performance people need? Read our review to find out
The design is very compact. It will not take up a lot of space and will fit your computer table nicely. Te metal brushing at the top gives it a good premium look. It weighs around 2.6 pounds which is also lighter than most of the desktops out there. From the design point of view, this one passes comfortably.
Processor and Memory
The processor that runs the ASUS VM60-G072R is an Intel core i5 chip that clocks at a maximum frequency of 1.8GHz. This is one of the best processors in the market right now and to include this in a mid range priced device is a great addition. There is no lag in performance as the processor handles the operating system and the applications well.

There is a 4GB DDR3 RAM for memory. This is kind of a default amount of memory you’ll get in any desktop right now. There are provisions to upgrade the memory if you need any more. People who multi task will find this RAM impressive. It also ensures proper running of multi threaded applications.
Hard drive and Graphics
We have a 1TB hard drive which is quite big in its own. Not a lot of people will actually need more space than this. This is perfect when you are a mid range user. The hard drive comes pre-installed with Windows 8.1. Not everyone is a fan of the latest operating system from Microsoft, but if you don’t like it you can always downgrade to Windows 7.
The graphics department is neat with the Intel HD 4000 graphics card. This isn’t the best graphics chip out there but can run most of the games without any hiccups. If you are a hardcore gamer, you might want to check out some gamin desktops. For casual and mid range gamers, this is more than adequate.
There are some good options for connectivity in the ASUS VM60-G072R. There are 6 USB ports in total. Out of the 6, 2 ports belong to the latest USB 3.0 version. This will allow you to transfer data at a speed that is around 10 times faster than the USB 2.0 ports. Sadly, there is no optical drive as it would’ve been a problem including it in this form factor.
Is It Worth the Money?
The main reason people are going to buy this is for the unique form factor. But there is also some really good value t provides for the money we pay. There is an i5 chip, 1TB hard disk and also USB 3.0 ports which justify the pricing.
- Good Processor
- Spacious Hard drive
