ASUS ROG G750JZ-DS71 reviewThe ASUS ROG G750JZ-DS71 is another laptop from the house of ASUS. This time the target audiences are none other than the gamers. The laptop is a full-fledged gaming device with awesome specs. Will the laptop live up to the hype or is it a failure attempt? Read out full review cum spec analysis to know more in detail.

This ‘Republic of gamers’ edition laptop comes with a rugged design but is nowhere near the design elements of Alienware and MSI. The laptop is a little bulkier which happens to be the case for gaming machines. The screen size is neat at 17 inches so that you can have more of a visual experience during gameplay. Overall, it has a nice feel to it and doesn’t feel cheap.

The display as we mentioned before is 17 inches. The screen has full HD resolution meaning there are 1080 x 1920 pixels in the screen. A full HD screen is great for gaming and the refresh rate is also good enough to have uninterrupted gaming experience. The picture clarity is crisp and there will be no complaints in the display department.

The processor that runs the ASUS ROG G750JZ-DS71 gaming laptop is an Intel core i7 processor which is probably the best one you are going to find at this time. The processor can clock to a maximum of 3.4GHz which can lead to some amazing performance. As far as the running of the operating system and other apps are concerned, the chip makes sure there is literally no lag in their operations.

Memory is a big deal these days with many games and apps requiring a lot of memory to perform to their finest. But here it is not a problem as the laptop comes with a whopping memory of 24GB DDR3. This is as far as it can get and the user will not have anything to say against this monster memory specification. Together the processor chip and RAM can get some really high end work done.

The hard drive comes with a capacity of 1TB. With other specs reaching another level, this seems pretty ordinary. But there is also a solid state drive with a capacity of 256GB which can improve the booting speed and performance by a big deal. Though there could have been more speed, the SSD makes up for it.

The operating system here is Windows 8.1. Though this isn’t everyone’s favorite operating system, it does offer very good support for games. If you feel like majority of the crowd, you can always revert back to the ever successful Windows 7 with ease.

The graphics card is like the heart for any gaming machine. Here it is an Nvidia GeForce GTX 880M            card with a memory of 4GB. This is one of the best GPUs in the market right now and without a question, it delivers from the word go. You can play the best games freely and there will no drop in performance thanks to amazing processor, memory and GPU trio.

The battery is probably the most disappointing thing in the ASUS ROG G750JZ-DS71 laptop. The battery stays alive for a little more than 3.5 hours. With some laptops reaching around 9 hours this can be concerned as a weak link in the spec sheet. Hopefully other features make up for it.

There are 4 USB 3.0 ports that can travel data ten times faster than the conventional USB 2.0 ports. The laptop offers support to Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity and other standard features include too. You can also connect to higher end displays with the help of the HDMI port.

Is It Worth the Money?

The laptop with these many features comes with price tag around $2000. This might look costly in the beginning but mainstream gaming laptop cost high. The price tag is in fact is very economical when considering the specs associated with this device.

In short, yes it is totally worth it.
