ASUS a55a-ah51-pk reviewASUS with the release of A55A-AH51-PK has increased its count of successful devices. This new entry from ASUS has all the standard features and functions well to satisfy your needs. Though not a highly improved model from its manufacturers it still puts up a decent show to stay in the competition.

The 15.6 inch screen is very decent and offers really good quality picture at a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The laptop is powered by a 2.5 GHz Intel core i5 processor. There is also a 4GB DDR3 RAM which is enough to run most of the programs without any stuck ups. And for those who need a lot of space, you have a 750GB hard disk and there is no need to get any other storage devices.

The ASUS A55A-AH51-PK comes with Windows 8 which is the latest offering from Windows. Using the new operating system in this device is a delight as it is well equipped to run the OS. But the absence of the exclusive gestures for Windows 8 can’t give you the complete experience and moreover you don’t have a touchscreen.

There is an optical drive that supports DVD writing. There is 1 USB 2.0 port and 2 USB 3.0 ports for the transfer of files using your pen drive. You can also connect your HD television to your laptop through the HDMI port that is present. The battery is of standard 6 cell lithium type and stays live for about 4 hours.

The ASUS-only features make a real difference here. The Ice cool technology in this device makes sure the laptop doesn’t get heated up even after using it for a long time. The Palm Proof technology makes your touchpad handling easier and prevents free movements during work. The media experience is further enriched with the SRS premium sound. The sound effect is above par and makes your laptop well suited for movies and games.

The smart logon face recognition functions well up to some extent but don’t try testing the feature with a 2 month beard. Though the laptop functions well for the most part, it doesn’t excel when playing games and the refresh rate of the display is also not good enough for high end games.

The ASUS A55A-AH51-PK is a pretty good laptop for the price you pay. It is well suited for doing your daily office work and isn’t much of a weight carrying around. But if you intend to play some good games then you are better off going for a gaming device.
